If you’re interested in finding new ways to be more efficient and make your life easier, here are 10 apps that are helpful for every trucker.

Carter Drivers
  1. Trucker Path

Advertised as one of the most popular apps for truck drivers, Trucker Path helps truckers find nearby truck stops, available parking, weigh stations, fuel stops, and is a great resource for trip planning and truck-safe routing. This app is designed to save you time and money. Whether you’re looking to reserve parking on your route, want to know who has the lowest fuel prices, grab a shower at your next stop or read reviews from other drivers, this is the app for you.

  1. Drive Weather

As truckers, knowing the weather on your route is extremely important. The Drive Weather app will show you the weather forecast for your entire trip, both all at once and during the times you’re expected to be in each part of your route. You’ll be more prepared for inclement weather and can adjust your route and stops based on what the weather looks like.

  1. Drivewyze

Waiting in line at a weigh station can sometimes put a damper on your schedule for the day. Instead of all the hassle, you can use Drivewyze to bypass weigh stations and mobile inspection sites legally. The app has a database of over 800 sites in 47 states and provinces. Depending on your carrier safety score, drivers can bypass participating sites up to 98% of the time saving you fuel, money and time. Download the app for a free 30-day trial.

  1. Trucker Tools

This app is popular with independent contractors because it’s got all the things you need to keep you moving. Features include load search and tracking, routing and fuel optimizer, parking, rest areas, weight scales, truck stop guide and document uploading. They even have message boards to chat with other drivers.

  1. Truck and Travel

Allstays Truck Stops & Travel Plazas is the longest-running app for drivers and provides info on the closest truck stops, weigh stations, CAT scales, truck washes, parking lot sizes, food options, showers and more. You can even access all this information when you’re out of service range, making it an invaluable trucker resource. This app is ad-free and costs $9.99.

  1. Fuelbook

The cost of fuel is on the rise, making an app like Fuelbook more helpful than ever. You’ll get free access to diesel prices at over 7,000 truck stops, roadside assistance and repair shop finder, live parking status, news and alerts, and truck stop specials. The app is updated six times a day, giving you up-to-date pricing information. You can even set up your route on the app and it will give you all the truck stops and fuel prices along the way.

  1. iExit

iExit is another app great for trip planning. In addition to showing you nearby gas stations and fuel prices, you’ll also be able to see restaurants, lodging, banks, hospitals and more along your route. It will even direct you to WiFi hotspots and playgrounds if you’re spending time with your family.

  1. GasBuddy

Save money at the pump by using the GasBuddy app. It provides real-time gas price information at more than 150,000 gas stations, plus it gives you cash back rewards on purchases with brand partners and discounts on gas when you pay through the app.

  1. MyFitnessPal

While this app isn’t directly made for truckers - or even motorists - it’s definitely a handy tool when it comes to tracking your health goals. The free version of this app allows you to keep a food diary, track daily calories, weight loss progress, log workouts and more.

  1. Spotify

Having something to listen to while you’re driving or in the evenings while you’re relaxing is a great way to stay entertained. There are a lot of entertainment apps out there, but we like Spotify for its extensive music library and collection of podcasts.

These apps are just a few of our favorites out of all the mobile apps out there available for truckers. If you’re looking for an app to make your life a little easier, help you grow your career or to fill in some downtime, we encourage you to check these out.
