Carter Express Opens a New Crossdock in Mexico that Brings Higher Accuracy and Lower Cost in Handling Mexico Freight

Carter Express is handling over 500 routes per week within Mexico. This increased demand drove the decision to transition from an outsourced crossdock model to a company crossdock model.

In August 2018, we opened our first crossdock in Queretaro, Mexico. Operated by Carter personnel, including an additional 11 new employees, operating 24 hours a day and six days a week, this new 28,000 sq. ft.-crossdock with six doors features barcode scanning starting in the 4th quarter of 2018.

Carter Express is handling over 500 routes per week within Mexico. This increased demand drove the decision to transition from an outsourced crossdock model to a company crossdock model.

“Improving the companies dock infrastructure within Mexico is aligned with our ultimate goal of providing the highest quality supply chain services to our customers at cost competitive prices,” said Richard DeBoer, Senior Vice President of Carter Logistics.

Carter Express is proud to provide daily pick-ups and deliveries of freight for principally automotive companies through the US’ Shared Milkrun system. Further implementation of this technology in Mexico, as well as standardization of dock processes, will lead to improved accuracy in handling freight and the ability to handle more volume at a lower cost per pallet.

Carter Express would like to express our appreciation to all of the parties involved to make this opening a success. Our special thanks goes to Agustin Villegas, Director of Mexico Operations, and Hugo DeLeon, Queretaro Crossdock Manager.
